The #4 Thing You Must Do.
The next thing in the The 5 Things You Must Do To Build A Successful Online Business is a bit more interesting. It is also a bit harder to do. So – let me recap for a moment.
You have a Dream. Right? You did do that, didn’t you? If not, go and read the post about the The #1 You Must Do. Everything I am talking about here starts with your Dream.
If you remember, my Dream is to live in the Dominican Republic from November 17, 2007, to February 28, 2008.
Next you set a Goal based on your Dream. Reread the post about the The #2 Thing You Must Do. I gave you an exercise on how to set your Goal. And I told you what my Goal was from my Dream.
The #3 Thing You Must Do is to find a Mentor. You have likely been mucking around on the Internet long enough that this should not be too much of problem. See the post for what to look for in a Mentor.
Now The #4 Thing You Must Do is…(Drum roll, please)
Focus. You must learn to focus on your Goal.
We live in an interesting time on good old Planet Earth. We have this wonderful piece of technology that we call the Internet. One of the most interesting pieces of the Internet is the World Wide Web.
We call this period of time right now, the Information Age. There is more information available to every person via the World Wide Web currently than at any time in history.
This is why you must learn to Focus. As you follow your Mentor to building a successful Online Business, it will be very (extremely) easy to be sidetracked. You must focus on the information your mentor is giving you – and only on that.
Listen Up – To reach your Goal, you must build your Online Business. The Goal of a Business is to make money. If you do not maintain a focus on your Goal, and on the the information that your Mentor is giving you, you will not make any money.
It is not my intention to beat you up here, or to be too harsh in my comments. However, what I just said in the paragraph above is simply a reality. If you do not maintain a Focus on your Goal, you will, simply put, not attain your Goal. Or it will take you much longer to reach it.
I lead a couple of MasterMind Teams. A common thread throughout our calls is that each member, at different times, has indicated how they are cutting back on the number of email lists that they subscribe to and focusing on the place where they are at in building their Online Business.
They seem to have begun to realize that they cannot continue to have so much input, and put in the quality time that it takes to build a business, and still have some time for family, etc. Focus.
To maintain a Focus on a Goal, it is sometimes helpful to have tools at our disposal. I make use of such a Goal Setting Tool. I think what it does is program my brain to be receptive to whatever will help me reach my Goal.
